5 Best food “teen-moods” and wine pairing.
Are you the mom / parent of a tween or teen…? I am here to help. In this post I’ll discuss only 5 of the common teen moods or reactions that we as parents have to deal with, and the best wines for you in these situations. Let’s get right to it! Here are the 5 best teen mood and wine pairing for those challenging moments:
Disclaimer: No teens were harmed in the writing of this blog.
The eye-roll:
Okay this one we pair with a full body, smooth Merlot. The merlot also pairs well with the delicious chocolate cream pie you’re stuffing your face with while hiding in the bathroom.

The Sibling Rivalry:
You can enjoy a lovely Pinot Grigio every time you hear: “I’m NEVER talking to him AGAIN!!!” OR “She’s the WORST sister EVER”. Pinot Grigio wines are usually medium to light-bodied, dry, and acidic. (you know- to match your teen’s mood). Enjoy the biggest order of sushi with this bottle(s).

The Door-Slam:
First of all: do NOT join in the fun. Walk away- I repeat: Walk away. Run yourself a nice bubble bath, light some candles, pour a huge glass of Pinot Noir and enjoy your quiet time (here you can add all the dark chocolate). According to WebMD: “Your child at 11 will be embarking on a period of physical growth at a faster rate than at any time in life except infancy.” They are going through a million changes and they have no idea how to handle it. So go take that bath and give you (and them) time to cool down. Remember: Self-love should be on the top of your priority list.

The “I’m Bored”
Aaaaaaaah this one is interesting. Since they literally have a million different things that they can do, but they’re not in the mood or it’s just plain “stupid”. You know? Here you will consume some delicious Zinfandel Rose. Fire up the BBQ, catch some sunrays and grill a good steak. If you’re not into grilling, cheesecake is a GREAT pairing with a bored teen mood…I mean Zinfandel Rose…

The “Phone-In-The-Face’:
That moment when your teen barely hears you or responds to you, because- you know- YOUTUBE or ROBLOX or “whatever”…. That’s when you grab a beautiful Cream Sherry with a piece of apple crumble or dark chocolate brownies.

Bonus Pairing: The Teething Toddler
Okay I’ve added this one because sleepless nights and a grumpy teething toddler is not always fun and games. This one calls for a BIG ASS breakfast and a HUGE Mimosa. (Sparkling Wine and Orange Juice!!!!)

Okay- on a bit more serious note: I wrote this post because I’ve seen many moms post on social media that they are having a hard time with tweens and teens at the moment. We all know lockdowns have been hard on the kiddos too.
I’m also not encouraging alcoholism (because I’m waiting for those comments and messages to hit my inbox… !) After all, a bit of humor never hurt anyone. But for everyone having a hard time- I have GOOOOOD news: I’m in the process of creating a few kick-ass online manifesting courses , some of them for tweens/teens. This will help both sides handle difficult situations better- and once everyone realizes that they create their own reality- things change quickly. I’ve been doing the practices and involved my tween/teen too- and once they started seeing results- the changes have been phenomenal.
In the meanwhile- you can request to join my new Facebook group here.

Also check out my beautiful vision books on Amazon! You can now carry your vision board with you everywhere you go! I’ll be adding many more designs in the next few months.

Hope to see you there! I’ll go pour myself a Merlot now.
