Hey Ladies (and Gents of course!), grab a glass of wine, (or coffee or whatever floats your boat!) put up your feet and take a few minutes to read your prescription for self-love! We are living in a strange time and place right now, and we tend to put ourselves last.
“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.” ~Thich Nhat Hanh”
Let me paint you a little picture of how my life used to be:
- I was bullied in school.
- Let’s just say sport was never my strong point.
- I sucked at academics.
- Forget about romantic relationships- that never worked out for me.
- Weight was gained… A LOT of it.
- Money problems. (the problem being that I never had any money for anything)
- I failed in every single business I’ve started.
I was completely in victim mode and none if this changed until I started loving myself. Everything just fell into place when I decided (and believed!!!) that I am worthy of being happy and successful and loved. I wish I knew this as a child, how important self-love is, and that is a HUGE reason why I’m creating a law of attraction course for kids and teens.. If all kids knew this, can you imagine the future of this planet??
But for today, let’s start with YOU and your prescription for self-love. Do this daily for 30 days, then repeat, and then repeat again. (You get the drill…)
1: Change your morning routine:
Start every day with love and gratitude and for the love of all that is good and holy, not your phone or social media!
Upon waking up, visualize your whole being surrounded in a warm golden light. See the brilliant light flooding every cell in your physical body, while breathing in love and breathing out love. Drink a glass of water and make a gratitude list. Feel good about yourself before you even get out of bed, and you WILL have a magnificent day.

2. Take a look in the mirror:
Stand in front of the mirror and affirm all the great things about yourself. (You can get my 2021 Affirmation Calendar for Moms here!)
Feel grateful for your amazing body, your mind and your senses. Remember that what you see in other people is a reflection of what you think of yourself. Be kind to yourself, LOVE who you are and see how your life starts changing right before your eyes.

3. Start saying NO:
It’s okay to say no to people sometimes. (and no- I’m not telling you to become an ass either!) But- you don’t have to do anything to get approval from anyone. We often like to please everyone around us, and we end up stretching ourselves too thin and exhausting ourselves. I saw a quote the other day saying: “What you do today is important, because you are exchanging a day of your life for it.” Stop waiting around for someone else to give you permission to live your life to the FULLEST.

4: Do something every day that makes you happy.
Take a little bit of “me-time” every single day- you have to realize that this is NOT selfish. It’s called SELF-LOVE. If you don’t take care of yourself- you won’t be able to take care of others either. So pour a glass of wine and take the bubble bath, get started on that painting you’ve always wanted to make, do some journaling, join the yoga class or go to the mall, buy a Starbucks coffee and do some window-shopping. Whatever it is. Do it. Daily.

5. Forgive yourself:
This is a tough one. We are so hard on ourselves about everything. Sometimes we all feel exhausted in some way, for different reasons. Sometimes we make “bad” choices or do something we regret. It is now time to let go of your past. Focus on NOW only and forgive yourself for all the “bad” choices you thought you made. Because it really doesn’t matter at all. Remember: the Universe does not respond to your past- only to how you feel RIGHT now. This will be a good time to balance your chakras too!
So forgive yourself and move on.

6. STOP comparing yourself to others:
You have your own unique amazing life. It’s great to draw inspiration from others, but stop comparing yourself to everyone around you. When you do this you usually start with the destructive self-talk:
“Why does she get to travel and I never get the chance to..”
“They are so successful in business and I am not even close”
“Some people just magically get their way, and I have to struggle??”
“Why don’t I look like all these celebrities and models, OMG I’m sooooo fat!!!”
Let me tell you why. Because they mind their own business. (and sometimes Photoshop -LOL). They focus on their own success and happiness. And MOST importantly: because they love and respect themselves. They know (really know) that they are worthy of all of the opportunities, love, experiences, money- and every amazing thing that happens in their lives.
Make a vision board and start visualizing your life the way you want it to be. Believe that you are worthy of it all. You really do deserve it.

So, in a nutshell: love and accept yourself. And please, PLEASE, stop being so DAMN hard on yourself. You are unique and perfect. Now you just have to BELIEVE it- go ahead and fill that prescription for self-love!
